The Vision of Clifton Finance
In the 1990s, we pioneered Corporate Finance ‘avant la lettre.’ Although the term wasn’t yet coined, businesses, particularly family-owned, sought our counsel on succession issues, share value conflicts, mergers, and acquisitions.
Over the past 30 years, the corporate finance sector has evolved significantly: processes have become more standardized, analyses more comprehensive, and the use of documents, spreadsheets, databases, and larger teams has increased. Recently, there has been a further digitalization of processes, influenced by highly professional private equity investors. The market has also become more international, necessitating that part of the conversations occur online.
However, extensive digitalization is not always ideal for all merger and acquisition processes. This is particularly true for family business transactions, which often require more personalized involvement tailored to the specific needs of the entrepreneurs.
Additionally, there is a higher risk of deal failure in the merger and acquisition process. With detailed risk analyses, higher stakes, and tighter timelines, transactions are more prone to abandonment compared to the past. This can be challenging for sellers, but it may sometimes be necessary for sound decision-making on the buying side.
Innovative Approach
Clifton Finance leverages years of experience to navigate this new landscape effectively. We operate swiftly, innovatively, and maintain efficient communication channels. We embrace digital solutions where feasible while ensuring substantial knowledge and personal involvement. With our experience, dedication, and perseverance, we successfully complete even the most challenging transactions.
When necessary, we collaborate with specialists from our network who have a deep understanding of each other’s methodologies. We focus on your unique situation and consider the personal interests and relationships within the company, and when relevant, within the family.
This is the commitment of Clifton Finance.
